Consideration for the correct spacing of your bollards is an important factor in deciding on the quantities and style of bollards or barriers you are planning to include for your project, as this will have a very real effect on the level of protection they are designed to provide.

The correct spacing between your bollards is most important for use on a domestic driveway entrance or when securing a large perimeter, vehicle forecourt, industrial roller shutters, shop fronts or private access roads.

The industry standard states that they should be generally set at intervals of no greater than 1.3 mtrs between centres on a commercial application. Whilst on a domestic driveway entrance the opening can be increased to 1.5 mtrs between centres. For insurance purposes you should always follow the industry standard of 1.2 - 1.3 mtrs between centres.

These spacing`s should be applied to both standard & anti ram raid specified telescopic bollards, static street bollards & hoop barriers.

Any increase in these spacing`s will have a negative effect on the level of security and protection you are planning.

The following examples are intended as a guide only. The spacing`s are as described for either domestic or industrial applications. If you need any advice or are not quite sure how many products you need then call us on 01375 - 373128 and we will be happy to help.
